A couple of years ago we were blessed to be able to go to Disneyworld as a family. It was especially fun to be there with our kids and granddaughter.
We were fortunate enough to be there with a meal plan that provided us with one meal per day in one of the better Disney restaurants. Because we were there for five days it meant we could eat in five nicer dining establishments.
How do we choose where to eat? We decided that each of the adults would get one day to pick the place.
This had me just a little bit concerned as I knew someone might pick a place that I might not be thrilled about. I’m a meat and potatoes kind of guy. I love my burgers and fries. I might be called on to step out of my comfort zone.
I knew it was most likely my wife who would offer this challenge. I proved to prophetic. She picked Teppan Edo, a Japanese restaurant in Epcot. I know she really wanted to eat there but I also think she relished just a bit in knowing that I didn’t.
I may have tried to offer her some other options that I thought might be more appealing to all of us. No go. I think she may have responded with something like, “Come on, courage guy. Show a little.”
You can probably guess the outcome. I ordered the swordfish, also a first, and it was fantastic. As you can see in the picture I even got quite adept at using my chopsticks.
Trying new things does take some courage and while the outcome isn’t always what you hope it will be it’s still worth the effort!
So, what does this mean for you?
Beginning Monday I’m going to be trying something new with my blog. Instead of blogging twice per week I will be changing to once per week. I am trying out the less is more theory.
I have done some research and found that most blogs are viewed in the am hours on Mondays with the peak being at 11 am eastern time.
In looking at my blog statistics my readership on Thursdays is considerably lower than it is on Mondays. Maybe I should be posting this on a Monday. Just thought of that. I’m going ahead anyway.
Change is good but it’s always difficult. Fear of the unknown is one of the biggest obstacles to change. If I go to a meat and potatoes restaurant I know I’m going to like the food. Going into Teppan Edo I had no idea what to expect other than it wasn’t what I was used to. My willingness to change gave me a great new experience.
I’m not too sure about this but it’s worth a try.
I welcome your feedback on this change as I value your opinions and want my blog to suit my reader’s needs.
Are there changes in life you need to make? What is holding you back? What would it take for you to take a step into the unknown?

Have a STRONG and COURAGEOUS day!
